The World-Famous Miles City Bucking Horse Sale
I’m not sure it is actually world-famous, but what are you going to do? It’s a big deal in Eastern Montana.
It’s the premier social event for the community, featuring a parade, horse racing, a rodeo, and numerous social activities. It attracts rodeo stock contractors from the U.S. and Canada seeking saddle and bareback broncos.
Did you know that quarter horses are faster than thoroughbreds in the quarter mile? Well, they are. That's how they got their name, and of course, they race them here.
The broncs are the main attraction. That’s how the sale got its name.
Apply named, Buckingham got hung up here, meaning he couldn’t get his hand out. Which is not a good thing.
