Quinn Clark is the son of Cornhusker legend Ken Clark.
Ken was a two-time All Big-Eight running back for Nebraska and then played three season with the Colts. Sadly, he passed away in 2013. He out rushed Barry Sanders in 1988 when Okie State came to Lincoln. He’s also the only guy to get a scholarship from Nebraska out of Bryan High in South Omaha. He graduated in 1984. I graduated from there in 1981, so we missed playing together by one year. I photographed him playing in high school. I don’t remember if I photographed him in college, but I think so.
Quinn has accepted a scholarship offer and will be joining Huskers in 2024. Currently he’s playing his senior year at Gallatin High in Bozeman, Montana. He’s a three star recruit, who at 6’ 5” and 190 lbs, looks to have a huge upside. He’s smart, polite, just a really nice young man. I’m hoping for big things out of him both on the football field and off.
The shoot for Huskers Illustrated lasted about thirty minutes, and I was thirty minutes late (went to the wrong high school). That’s a long photo shoot for a student athlete these days, but Quinn could not have been more patient and accommodating.
As you can see, we met at his high school’s track and just worked with the light, the clouds and the pole vault pit. I popped a wireless, handheld Godox strobe through a diffuser to keep the sky in play.
I think he’s a great fit for a program that’s rebuilding from the ground up.
Many thanks to Quinn and Jeff Bundy who assigned me to make his cover.
Go Big Red!
Fantastic pictures, Ken!
Great images. The second to last image would have been a great cover as well.
