If you’d like a career in photojournalism today, do two things: sign the contracts and always deliver a useful image. Perhaps “career” is too optimistic; let’s just say, if you’d like to occasionally work as a photojournalist today.
Either that, or pay your own way.
Those are your choices, and the pay-your-own-way route smacks of trust funders and the gainfully employed dentist who shoots sports on the weekends for credentials, shits, and a few grins.
